Calligraphy is a very fancy, classy and artistic writing style. Pressure of the pen is varied to create thick and thin lines where needed. All this is done using a nibbed pen or brush and usually in a single stroke. It is an art form that takes years and years to perfect. It is an extravagant use of a pen and the letters are embellished with flourishes. The main sub-styles are traditional calligraphy and modern calligraphy.
Calligraphy fonts are used a lot for wedding invitations, dinner party cards and as tattoo fonts.
